Our Gifts Enable Ministries

One of the realities of life is that churches need financial support. This support enables us to serve our community and the world. We are able to provide a safe place for people to gather in our building. We are able to meet the spiritual needs of Wellington and area residents. We are able to assist those in need here and throughout the world.

Our building is used for worship, study, community, funerals, celebrations, lunches and teas. The celebrations include showers for weddings/babies; and anniversary and birthday parties.

Our local United Church Women’s group (UCW), and United Church Men’s group (AOTS) both meet regularly. We provide a place for community groups including Alcoholics Anonymous, Community Care For Seniors Dinners, Foot Clinics, as well as various initiatives of the Prince Edward Family Health Team and our local Health Unit.

We are able to support those in our community who come to us seeking comfort and care. Usually the front line of this work is done by our Minister. Our Minister is available to provide pastoral visits, pastoral care and empathetic support, prayers, Sacraments, and hope to those who call upon us in times of need. The expression: “We are the hands and feet of Christ”, best describes this work.

Through the support of donors we are able to assist with the operation of our local food bank. Our gifts also go to support international charities, such as The Canadian Food Grains Bank. In this way we offer assistance to those in need in the wider world.

The regular maintenance and capital improvements to our historic, accessible, building are also supported by contributions of donors.

We invite you to support the work of Wellington United Church by making a tax deductible donation. There are a number of ways that you can do this:

• • You can donate in person at our weekly worship service on Sunday at 10:30am by requesting an envelope number. This will both ensure your privacy and ensure that you are issued a tax receipt for all donations in a given year. An offering is received during every worship service.
• • You might choose to give by pre-authorized remittance (PAR)
