Interested in a Wedding at Wellington United Church?
Jesus began his ministry (John 2.1-11) by turning water to wine at a joyful wedding party. We believe that there is joy in the heart of God when two people make a commitment of life-long love and faithfulness. We believe that God is involved in the covenant between a couple.
Marriage services/weddings may be performed by our Minister, both within our historic accessible 19th century building, and at other locations of the couple’s choosing – in consultation with the Minister.
Our Session (Board of Elders) is the governing body of our congregation responsible for spiritual matters. The Session reviews and makes decisions related to all applications for weddings at Wellington United Church. The Minister is the Chair of Session.
Wellington United Church seeks to be an inclusive community, welcoming all persons. We recognize that grace abounds in human relationships. Our marriage policy reflects our desire to be accepting and gracious. We do not preclude marriages where one or both partners have been divorced.
